Shipping & Returns

Returns Policy 

You may return most items within 7 days of delivery for a refund minus our shipping costs.  We reserve the right to charge a 15% restocking fee in the case of wear or damage. We'll pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item).  We do not offer returns on mouthpieces (or mouthpiece parts), recorders, melodicas, ocarinas, pan flutes, Native American-style flutes, ligatures, cane or synthetic reeds, bows, shoulder rests, or harmonicas. We will accept returns on most items as long as the package is unopened and unaltered. Please contact us before returning any packages.

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (up to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (1 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item that is
NOT a rental, please contact us with your order number and details about the product you would like to return. We will respond quickly with instructions for how to return items from your order. You can email for Band & Orchestra (brass, woodwinds, orchestral strings, etc.) order questions, or for Combo (guitars, drums, ukuleles, keyboards, etc.) order questions.


We offer free shipping for most orders to the continental United States.  Please see individual item descriptions for details.  Some items are not available for free shipping, so please contact us to facilitate a purchase. Please note, if you are a local customer, we do not put local orders through the mail system. We can either deliver your item to a nearby Rental Depot, or we can deliver it to a school if the item is for a student. If you would still like us to deliver it to your home, shipping fees will apply to your order.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.


Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are dimensional-weight based, meaning regardless of the weight of the item, the dimensions of the box needed to ship the item will determine the cost of shipping. We utilize FedEx, USPS, and UPS. If you need to use a specific carrier, please contact us before placing your order, or include in the order comments.  If your requested shipping method is more expensive than our chosen method, you will be billed for additional cost.


If you are an international customer, you will need to arrange a forwarding service, as we do not ship internationally. In this case, we will pack the item(s) and can hold it for courier pickup. If you are local (within 25 minutes of the store), we will automatically hold your items for in-store pickup vs shipping them. We will reach out telling you your items are ready for pickup, and we can always arrange to hand deliver your item(s) to a nearby rental depot or to your home. Both options are faster than shipping! If you would still like it shipped, a flat $4 shipping charge will be charged.
