The intermediate SPC411 piccolo features a Grenaditte headjoint and body, offering a rich wood-like tone with added stability and resistance to weather. Grenaditte is a composite material made of Grenadilla wood and resin, allowing the player a rich wood tone without the disadvantages of a wood piccolo. This Selmer piccolo provides the sensitive performer an easy response and a tone that is rich, expressive, and even through all registers thanks to its beautifully designed and handcut headjoint.
The action of the silver plated keywork is light, fast and fluid with carefully adjusted spring tensions. This is accomplished due to the high standards of the expert craftswomen and men that hand-assemble each piccolo. Additionally, these piccolos feature Pisoni pads, ensuring long-lasting pad seating and stability. The conical bore combined with the carefully designed tone hole system create an incredibly in-tune piccolo with wonderful resonance.
Every Selmer piccolo is professionally set up, play-tested, and adjusted at the Conn-Selmer Center for Woodwind Excellence located in Elkhart, Indiana, USA to ensure each instrument is received in optimal, professional adjustment and ready to last a lifetime.
